The UK Government’s cybersecurity certification, Cyber Essentials, has been the national standard for basic cybersecurity hygiene in the UK since 2014. In January 2022, for the first time since its launch, significant changes to the scheme’s scope requirements were introduced, meaning organisations now seeking certification have a number of additional elements to consider.
Our client, Qualys, is a leading provider of information security & compliance cloud solutions. Fully supporting the changes to the certification, Qualys saw the accreditation as a positive first step for organisations to establish good cyber hygiene measures, and so the UK team were keen to take part in this conversation around the certification’s changes.
One of Qualys’ spokespeople had previously worked in cybersecurity in the public sector, and so understood the importance of this certification and its impact on opening doors for organisations seeking new business opportunities within the public sector.
Around the time of the certification changes, the onebite team began pitching a series of contributed articles to security publications to make them aware of the changes that were taking place.
