Linode, an independent US-based cloud hosting company (since acquired by Akamai), was looking to establish and maintain a news bureau for Linode in the UK. The aim was to widen Linode’s exposure to a wider UK base by targeting developers, small businesses, and departmental-level enterprise deployments with a message focused on innovation and open source technologies.
We proposed a corporate communications strategy that included multiple deliverables, including thought leadership content from key Linode spokespeople, case study creation, a press office function, media and analyst relations and more.
The campaign was delivered in a cohesive way using a consistent brand narrative throughout coined “Alternative Cloud”, symbolising Linode’s agile approach to hosting versus competitors and its position as a market disruptor. We engaged with journalists and created content focusing on topics that spoke directly to Linode’s audience, landing placement in top tier publications and driving valuable awareness of Linode.
